I have decided to do another walk in the summer. This year I am intending to walk from Worthing Aquarina to Brighton Palace Pier. - My name is Claire. i'm 31. I've been really lucky for most of my life, except for one thing. I had a brain tumour, an astrocytoma. It was operated on 7 months ago at Hurstwood Park, Haywards Heath with complete resection and with no further treatment needed at this stage. My tumour was benign, a grade 2. After the operation my speech and my movement were affected. I couldn't move my arm or my leg down my right hand side. And I could not speak at all. However, gradually I recovered and now I seem to be almost the person I was before the tumour, except of course minus a tumour. Many people will search on the internet when they get a diagnosis of a brain tumour, however all brain tumours are unique to the individual person diagnosed therefore it is extremely difficult to say they are going to affect everyone in the same way.
