Pics

Here are some photos of the walk we did to raise money for Hurstwood Park at the beginning of the month.

I went for my appointment with Mr Critchley.. Nervous of course. However, the results were good showing a big black hole. And he has told me that I can drive. Amazing.

Walk done

We set off from Worthing Pier at 10.30. Myself, Andrew, Ben, Edmund & Camilla oh and also Kerry, she wasn't supposed to be there but as she pleaded hard with me and also cried real tears so I allowed her to come.
We stopped a couple of times along the way but not for very long. It started out cloudy and I even felt a few drops of rain but as we got closer to our destination it got hotter and sunnier. We arrived at our destination at 2.30. It took 4 hours!!And Eddie thought it would take an hour and a half!
Feet ached and I had a couple of blisters, but now a few days later they don't hurt anymore, however I am still very tired.
Photos to follow..........Probably raised this time round approx £250 overall £1100.

I want to say a big thanks to Ben, Camilla and Eddie. I know it was torture for you especially Eddie!!
Thanks to Andrew and Kerry. Big Hugs!!xxx

And also for Sarah massive efforts, you are a star!x

Thanks to all who sponsored me!

MRI

I've got my MRI scan tomorrow. I really don't know how many I have had, probably about 10 or 12. I'm feeling apprehensive about tomorrow, so I'm trying not to think to much about it, I need to just focus on my walk on Saturday. I know everything to expect I am a pro at MRI these days.

The Pier to Pier Walk

I am going to be walking with my family and some friends from Worthing Pier to Brighton's Palace Pier on the 4th July. I have decided to focus on one charity Hurstwood Park League of Friends. They need more money to purchase the Brainray machine. Which you can read about if you go to www.hurstwoodparkleagueoffriends.org.uk

If you would like to sponsor me it would be greatly appreciated. Go to www.justgiving.com/claireleach1

Walk

I have decided to do another walk in the summer. This year I am intending to walk from Worthing Aquarina to Brighton Palace Pier. This year I will be raising money for The National Society for Epilepsy and Brain Tumour UK. As you know I found out about my tumour because I had seizures. I have started to come off the anti convulsant drugs I was taking called Tegretol Retard, so I am really lucky. If you would like to get in touch with The national Society for Epilepsy just go to the website or call...

Kerry

Just thought I'd update my blog cause I haven't done so recently. Kerry has had her 4th birthday last month. We had a lovely party for her and I made a Princess Castle Cake for her. It was bright pink. She loved it. I will try to put a picture of it on my blog soon.
Kerry really is an amazing little girl, beautiful, clever and so thoughtful. I am so so proud of her and adore her so very much. Throughout everything she has always been very good attending all my appointments with my Neurosurgeon, most of my MRI scans and other appointments and hasn't really caused any fuss or had any tantrums. And she was very good for her Daddy when I was in hospital. I think she understands me and I have an extremely strong bond with her. Enhanced I think by the fact I think that I know that I could have so easily lost everything, I love her more because of it, and appreciate her and everything more because of what I went through.
Kerry I love you!xxx

Relief

I met with Mr C my Neurosurgeon on the 21st at 8.45! It was an early start, however I found out that the first appointment was at 8.30. Anyway, everything was ok again. I have really got to stop doing this to myself, but I don't know how I will. Being an anxious person it is in my nature to worry, and I really don't want to go through anything like what I went through, ever again. But it is alright it may never happen.

I was asked how I had been, I said that I had been having a lot of headaches, and that I thought it might be my sinusis, well he checked it out and he said that I did appear to have sinusitis. I had been to the ENT hospital before all this, so it looks like I have come full circle. It seems funny.

Aside from this I finally got to meet all my Brain Tumour UK phone pals. We all met up for a pizza in London on Monday and had such a lovely time. I have been taking part in a conference call type thing for the last 3 years I think, so it was great to actually meet all of them face to face.

We then went off by ourselves to see the sites, Andrew, Kerry and myself. It was a lovely day.

All in all I am feeling positive but exhausted.
